GUARANTEE

Should one believe there is a fault with their vehicle, please ensure the car is returned to Fit-it.  The guarantee covers any workmanship or defective parts supplied by us, but is subject and limited to the vehicle being returned to our workshop in order fo us to repair it.  One is unable to make a claim against Fit-it if the car has been assessed or serviced by another workshop other than Fit-it.

Please note that our guarantee does not cover the following:

  • Costs relating to the fault such as towing fees, hotel charges, loss of personal effects and income, car hire or petrol.

  • Parts which have been purchased by the client and brought to Car Service City to replace.

  • Second hand parts.

Booking of your vehicle:

 

How do I book my Vehicle in for Services or repairs?

Is there a shuttle service back to my work place or home?

  • Fit-it will gladly take you back to your office or home, if it is within a 5Km radius of the branch. When booking in your car, please make the branch aware that you will require a lift back to your office or home in the morning as to allow us to make the necessary arrangements.​

 

Please make arrangements to collect your vehicle in the afternoon as we are unable to fetch customers and bring them back to the branch.

What is the process followed to determine service and repair requirements?

 

The vehicle is placed on a diagnostics machine and manually assessed by a mechanic. A duel report is formed which indicates what work has to be done or what parts require replacement. The customer is contacted telephonically and informed of the findings as well as the cost to carry out the service and repair. A full explanation of the additional work and most importantly the safety implications of not affecting the repairs explained. Customers will be made aware of the full financial implications of the TOTAL repair and service cost. No additional work is undertaken without the customer’s prior consent. Only once the manager has received approval from the customer, are the parts ordered. All old parts will be placed in the boot of the car.

What is the payment procedure?

 

Payment is strictly by Cash, Debit card, Credit card or EFT If an EFT is done, on collection of vehicle, please bring proof of payment No Cheques are accepted. No vehicles are released without payment.

Memberships:

Fit-it is a member of the Retail Motor Industry Organisation (RMI). As a member, Fit-it abides by the Code of Conduct which applies to customer and staff-related issues.

Fit-it is a member of the MIO which acts as an independent facilitator in the event of a dispute with a customer on workmanship performed.

The Labour Relations Act Provides for the self-regulation of Industries through the medium of Bargaining Councils. MIBCO is a Bargaining Council as envisaged in the Act whose mission is to create and maintain industrial peace and stability in the Motor Industry.
